About the role

Hairhouse Airport West is seeking a professional Body Piercer to deliver safe piercing services, personalised advice and a welcoming experience for every client. This role combines practical piercing expertise with client care and retail service. You will help clients choose suitable piercings and jewellery, provide clear aftercare guidance and maintain high standards of hygiene and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct thorough consultations to understand client preferences, assess suitability and explain the piercing process, healing expectations and aftercare.

- Perform ear and body piercings within your training and competency, following store procedures and relevant health and hygiene requirements.

- Check identification, age eligibility and informed consent before proceeding with services.

- Maintain a clean, organised piercing area, following infection prevention, equipment sterilisation and safe sharps disposal procedures.

- Recommend appropriate jewellery based on anatomy, placement, materials, sizing and the stage of healing.

- Provide clear verbal and written aftercare advice, answer client questions and recognise when concerns require referral to a healthcare professional.

- Complete and maintain accurate consultation,



consent, service and aftercare records while respecting client privacy.

- Carry out jewellery changes and follow-up services where appropriate and within your competency.

- Support jewellery and retail sales through helpful recommendations that prioritise client suitability and safety.

- Assist with stock control, merchandising, cleaning and general store duties.

About you

- Previous qualified body piercing experience and relevant practical training.

- Sound knowledge of piercing techniques, anatomy, jewellery selection, healing and aftercare.

- A strong understanding of infection prevention and hygiene practices.

- Excellent communication skills and a calm, reassuring approach, particularly with nervous or first-time clients.

- Careful attention to detail and the judgement to decline or defer a piercing when it is unsuitable.

- A respectful, inclusive and professional approach to clients and colleagues.

- Confidence in customer service and product recommendations; retail experience is an advantage.

- Reliability, teamwork and flexibility to work a retail roster, including weekends as required.
