Building Caretaker

Seeking an experienced Building Caretaker to take ownership of our residential tower. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity!

Based at our residential tower on St Kilda Rd, you will undertake full Building Caretaker duties for this property comprising of 196 apartments, ensuring a high level of service is delivered and residents are living in a safe and clean workplace. This is a role with hands-on responsibilities and working with a supportive Owners Corporation Committee.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Being accessible to residents (first point of contact) and actioning any matters or requests regarding common property

· Working closely with the Owners Corporation Committee and Manager on all common area matters

· Liaising with essential service providers and contractors for repairs and maintenance issues

· Organising quotes for various jobs for the committee’s consideration

· Management of contractors on site ensuring all OHS procedures are followed at all times

· Perform routine building maintenance checks and ensure compliance of essential services and common property assets

· Perform daily security checks and surveillance





· Ensure general cleanliness of common areas by undertaking cleaning duties.

· Maintain building records, asset registers, service logs, key and access credentials.

· Prepare weekly building reports for the committee covering maintenance, compliance, incidents, contractor performances and upcoming works.

To be successful you will ideally have:

· Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a technical/trade background

· Professionally presented with a strong commitment to customer service

· Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work unsupervised

· Excellent written and oral communication skills and computer literacy

This is a hands-on role requiring strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. In return, you will be rewarded with a salary commensurate with your experience.
