About the role

DR Dental South Yarra seeks a skilled, compassionate Chairside Dental Nurse with Reception skills to join our team in South Yarra, Victoria. This part-time position offers flexibility while providing essential support to our dental practice. In this dual-function role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive exceptional clinical care and outstanding customer service.

You will work closely with our dentists and dental team to maintain the highest standards of patient care, infection control, and practice operations.

Key responsibilities

- Provide efficient chairside assistance during dental procedures, including instrument passing, moisture control, and patient comfort management
- Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Take and record accurate patient notes and treatment records
- Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and diary coordination
- Greet patients in a professional and welcoming manner, ensuring a positive first impression
- Handle patient enquiries via telephone and in person with courtesy and professionalism
- Process patient payments and manage billing procedures
- Maintain reception area cleanliness and organisation
- Assist with sterilisation protocols and maintain a hygienic clinical environment
- Support the clinical team with administrative tasks as required

What we're looking for

- Completed Dental Nursing qualification or equivalent recognised certification
- Current CPR certification and First Aid training
- Proven experience as a chairside dental nurse in a professional dental practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office




- Ability to work flexibly within a team environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control
- Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality patient care
- Previous reception experience in a healthcare or dental setting is highly desirable
