The Role:

Our client is a large, well-established Queensland accounting and professional services firm with a strong presence across the state. Their CFO Advisory team works closely with business owners, CFOs and senior management to provide practical financial insights and commercially focused advice that supports better business decisions.

This is an exciting prospect for an Intermediate Accountant to join the CFO Advisory team in Central Queensland. Working alongside experienced CFOs and senior advisors, you will support a diverse portfolio of clients across management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and business performance reporting.

You will assist with the preparation of management accounts, financial models, KPI reporting and forecasts, while helping clients understand what their numbers are telling them and where opportunities for improvement exist. You will also gain exposure to Virtual CFO engagements, business planning, process improvement and broader commercial advisory projects.

This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers and wants to develop their career beyond traditional tax and compliance work.

About You:

You will ideally have 2–4 years' Australian accounting experience, preferably within public practice, business advisory or a commercial accounting environment. CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards completing your qualification, will be highly regarded.

You will bring

- Strong accounting and financial reporting fundamentals.

- Experience with, or a strong interest in, management reporting,



budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

- Strong Excel and financial modelling capabilities.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial information.

- Good communication skills and confidence working with clients and senior professionals.

- A commercially minded approach and genuine interest in understanding how businesses operate.

- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced CFOs and advisors.

- A desire to build a long-term career in CFO Advisory and Business Advisory.
