About the role

As a Barista / Café All-Rounder, you will help deliver excellent coffee, food and customer service throughout the day. You will work in a newly built café at Wangaratta Hospital, serving hospital staff, patients, visitors and the local community, offering quality coffee, breakfast, lunch, grab-and-go meals and dinner.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee and other beverages.

- Operate commercial coffee machines and grinders, ensuring consistent coffee quality.

- Provide friendly, efficient and qualified customer service.

- Take customer orders and process payments through the POS system.

- Assist with food preparation and service, including sandwiches, wraps, salads and grab-and-go items.

- Refill displays, replenish stock and maintain attractive food presentation.

- Keep the coffee station, service areas and café clean and organised.

- Follow food safety, hygiene, cleaning and allergen management procedures.

- Assist with opening and closing duties,



stock rotation and general café operations.

- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service.

About you

- Previous barista experience and confidence operating a commercial espresso machine.

- Good knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing and coffee presentation.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- A friendly, positive attitude and professional approach.

- The ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.

- Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety and presentation.

- Reliability, punctuality and a team-oriented mindset.

- Flexibility to work across breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekends shifts as required.

- Previous experience in a café, hospital café or high-volume hospitality environment will be highly regarded.
