We're looking for passionate Commis/Demi Chefs to join our team at Sydney Airport on full time basis, creating fresh, quality food for thousands of travellers from around the world every day. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic airport environment where no two days are the same.

You’ll be required to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible with assisting Head Chef & Sous Chef with preparation of food prior to service

- Ensure individual section is ready to meet daily functions and special requirements

- Ensure the effective and efficient preparation of all food items and making of orders

- Be actively involved in daily service cooking and serving menu items in line with company standards

- Monitor and train staff on product knowledge, especially with new menu items, to maintain high standards

- Inform the Head/Sous Chef of any shortfalls in stock or orders needed for the next day





- Ensure adequate stock is on hand, and daily prep is completed to make the full menu offering available while avoiding waste

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 1 years’ experience as Commis/ Demi chef

- Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen

- Proficient across all kitchen sections with strong cooking and portion control

- Experience in managing inventory and ordering

- Calm, efficient, and effective under pressure

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (NSW) (desirable)

- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene

- Ability to contribute to seasonal menu planning
