The Role

We're looking for experienced Wintel Infrastructure Engineers to join a national security agency, based in either Canberra or Victoria. There are 5 positions available. Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure that supports digital services, and this process is specifically targeting Wintel (Windows) engineering skills.

You’ll implement security controls to uplift security posture across government, run design and remediation workshops, and prototype security configurations to develop advice. Given the sensitive nature of the environment, not all work areas can accommodate work from home, so your working arrangement will depend on the team you're assigned to. Successful candidates will also need to complete an Organisation Suitability Assessment (OSA) before commencing, and the engaging vendor must hold current Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement security controls to uplift the security posture of enterprise Windows (Wintel) systems




- Implement Essential Eight mitigation strategies
- Develop standard operating procedures for security and administrative tasks
- Facilitate and take part in workshops for design and remediation activities
- Prototype security configurations to develop advice
- Automate system administration and vulnerability assessment tasks using scripting or application development
- Implement tools to assess and remediate cyber risks
- Evaluate and implement remediation activities for detecting and mitigating Active Directory compromises
- Implement, manage and retire the physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure that supports digital services

Required

- At least 5 years' technical cyber security experience
- Wintel (Windows) infrastructure engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience working with a security focus on enterprise systems
- Experience implementing one or more of the Essential Eight mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated experience with scripting or application development to automate system administration or vulnerability assessment tasks, or to implement tools that assess or remediate cyber risks
- Ability to complete the Organisation Suitability Assessment (OSA) before commencement
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud systems, such as Azure or AWS, highly regarded




- Demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing remediation activities for the detection and mitigation of Active Directory compromises highly regarded
