Operations Manager - Sydney | Immediate Start

Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of education, student accommodation, healthcare, commercial and industrial cleaning contracts while helping shape the future of a fast-growing boutique specialist cleaning services provider.

RMM Group has experienced significant growth over the past 18 months, and we're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help drive the next stage of that journey. You'll inherit an established and stable portfolio, lead high-performing teams, support client retention and play an active role in operational improvement and future growth.

This is a role for someone who enjoys making things better. Beyond managing day-to-day operations, you'll have the opportunity to influence systems, processes and service delivery standards across the business while working closely with a collaborative and supportive leadership team.

A significant portion of your portfolio will be within the education sector, where the quality of our service extends far beyond cleaning. You'll play an important role in creating safe, healthy and welcoming environments that support student wellbeing, staff productivity and the reputation of some of Australia's leading schools.

The Role

This is a hands-on operational leadership role overseeing multiple sites and cleaning teams across Greater Sydney.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing a portfolio of education, student accomodation, commercial, hospitality / events and healthcare contracts.

- Building strong relationships with school business managers, facilities managers, property managers and key client stakeholders.

- Leading, coaching and supporting supervisors, leading hands and cleaning teams.

- Managing labour budgets, staffing levels, productivity and operational performance.





- Conducting regular client meetings, site inspections and quality audits.

- Resolving service issues promptly and implementing sustainable solutions.

- Planning and coordinating school holiday and periodic cleaning programs.

- Managing equipment, chemicals, consumables and operational resources.

- Driving workplace health and safety compliance across the portfolio.

- Supporting client retention activities and contract renewals.

- Assisting with new business opportunities, site assessments and mobilisation planning.

- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and operational efficiency.

- Working collaboratively with other Operations Managers and support teams to ensure consistent service delivery across the business.

About You

You are an experienced cleaning operations professional who understands that successful contracts are built on strong relationships, disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

You enjoy leading people, solving problems and challenging existing processes to achieve better outcomes for clients and teams.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Proven experience managing commercial cleaning contracts across multiple locations.

- Experience leading large frontline workforces in a service-based environment.

- Strong client relationship management skills.

- Experience managing labour budgets and operational performance.





- Demonstrated success in implementing operational improvements or process changes.

- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

- A proactive, hands-on leadership style.

- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

- Experience using digital workforce management, auditing and reporting systems.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- A current Australian Driver's Licence.

- Experience using business intelligence, quality management or workforce planning systems.

- Continuous improvement or process optimisation experience.
