Organic Social Media Specialist - Melbourne

$80,000 – $90,000 + super | Melbourne, hybrid | Tableside

Tableside is a hospitality-only marketing agency. Every account on our books is a venue, restaurant, bar, or hospitality group. No fashion brands, no SaaS, no property developers. Just operators.

We're hiring an Organic Social Media Specialist for our Melbourne pod. You'll partner with a Market Executive, building brands and growing social accounts for a portfolio of around ten venues.

You report to the Marketing Executive. You own organic. They own growth. Together you deliver outcomes.

Why this role, right now

Tableside has spent the last four years getting good at one thing: marketing for hospitality. We've grown to a team of 8 and a roster of 24 venues across Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide, and we're now at the point where we're scaling properly.

Over the next two years, we're opening pods in Sydney and Perth, building toward a 50-client roster, and developing a hospitality SaaS platform alongside the agency. The 10-year goal is to be the agency every serious operator in the country wants to work with, with a flagship industry event and a tech platform that changes how venues run.

This role isn't a seat in an established machine. You're joining while we're still building it. The person who takes this role and runs with it has a path to Senior Organic Specialist, Head of Strategy, or moving across to Sydney when we open up. We promote from within wherever we can.

If you're looking for a job, this isn't it. If you want the next 5 to 10 years of your career to mean something, keep reading.

What the role actually is

You're a brand builder who happens to work through social media.

Your job is to take a venue, understand what makes it different, and grow an audience of people who genuinely want to follow along. Not vanity followers. Real fans. Future regulars.

You'll execute against our three-gate campaign system: Concept Card, Creative Direction Brief, Execution Plan. Strategy lives with our directors. You take a locked concept and bring it to life across organic channels.

Day to day, you'll be:

- Owning the brand expression of your clients across organic. Tone, look, feel, point of view. Making sure each venue actually sounds like itself online, not like every other restaurant account.
- Building and executing content strategies that grow accounts. You understand what makes someone follow, save, share, and come back. You can look at an account and know why it's flat and what to do about it.
- Creating video. A meaningful chunk of this role is hands-on production. Shooting on iPhone at venues, capturing kitchen and floor moments, cutting edits, writing hooks that stop a thumb. You'll also brief and direct our network photographers and videographers for higher-production work.
- Building monthly content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms with intent. Every post has a job.
- Writing captions, hooks, and copy that sound like the venue, not generic agency output.

- Running community: comments, DMs, UGC, reviews.
- Co-running monthly client check-ins with the Marketing Exec.
- Tracking organic growth and engagement against client goals.

Who you are

- At least three years in organic social, ideally with hospitality experience. You're a brand thinker, not just an executor. You can articulate why an account is or isn't working, and you have a track record of growing accounts to prove it.
- You can shoot and edit. CapCut, Premiere, whatever. If you can't make a 15-second video that actually performs, this isn't your role.
- You can write. You understand venue rhythms. Why a Tuesday is different from a Saturday. Why a regular matters more than a follower. Why the dish photographed under fluorescent kitchen lights is never going on the grid.
- You've worked in hospitality directly, or you've run socials for venues long enough to understand the operator headspace. You can take feedback from a chef who has thirty seconds before service. You can hold a client who wants to post their current dish at 2pm on a Friday and explain why we're not doing that.
- You're ambitious. You want to be better in 12 months than you are today, and you want to work somewhere that pushes you to get there.

What's on offer

- $80,000 to $90,000 plus super, depending on experience
- Melbourne-based, hybrid out of our South Melbourne office
- Real ownership of brand outcomes, not just outputs
- A clear growth path as Tableside scales nationally
- A team of driven individuals all pushing for the highest outcome
- Annual creative trip and monthly team events
