Pickering Automotive Group is looking for a qualified Management Accountant with strong, practical AI knowledgeand the commercial judgement to help transform our finance function.

AI capability is a key requirement for this role. We want someone who actively uses AI tools, understands their capabilities and can identify practical ways to improve reporting, analyse information and reduce repetitive work.

You’ll work on the front line with our dealerships, combining accounting expertise, technology and a explicit understanding of daily operations to make a meaningful impact.

Put your AI knowledge into practice

We’re looking for someone who can:

- Use AI to support financial analysis, investigate variances and identify patterns or anomalies.
- Apply AI tools to improve reporting workflows and communicate financial insights clearly.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline finance processes.
- Assess new tools and help introduce practical improvements across the finance function.
- Validate AI outputs and apply sound financial judgement, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Help colleagues understand and confidently adopt useful AI capabilities.

Your opportunity

Reporting to our Managing Director and fractional CFO, you’ll help modernise our finance function while taking ownership of core accounting responsibilities.

This is an on-site Gold Coast role, working closely with dealership leaders and their teams. Understanding the business, building relationships and following through on improvements will be central to your success.

Our finance administrators handle most transactional tasks,



giving you greater scope to focus on analysis, reporting, controls and business improvement.

Your key responsibilities

- Prepare and analyse monthly management reports and financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Translate financial performance into practical recommendations.
- Work with dealership teams on accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls and support compliance requirements.
- Contribute to strategic planning, business cases and system improvements.
- Manage weekly payment runs and provide cover for payroll, billing and administration when required.

What you’ll bring

- An accounting degree and CA or CPA qualification.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools, with clear examples of how you’ve applied them to improve your work.
- Strong management accounting skills; motor dealership experience is highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills, plus confidence working across different software platforms.
- Sound knowledge of Australian tax requirements, financial compliance and internal controls.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, commercial curiosity and the ability to manage competing priorities.
