About the role

As NDIS Participant Engagement Manager, you'll lead our team of NDIS Participant Engagement Officers across centre-based day programs and community participation programs. You'll report to the Senior Community Participation Manager. You'll also be the key link between frontline program delivery and senior leadership.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You'll set the standard for person‑centred, rights‑based practice and make sure Active Support happens in real life, not only on paper. You'll handle complex matters when they're escalated to you, and you'll help your team grow.

Your work will make sure every participant takes part in activities that are engaging and linked to their goals.

What you'll do

- Lead, coach and develop a team of Participant Engagement Officers through regular supervision, performance reviews and team meetings
- Oversee the quality, variety and consistency of centre-based and community programs, making sure participation plans align with each participant's NDIS goals
- Embed Active Support and person-centred practice across all teams, and lead reflective practice and quality improvement
- Manage program budgets, monitor funding use and keep NDIS billing accurate
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex participant matters, complaints and safeguarding concerns
- Lead incident management and investigations, and make sure reportable incidents reach the NDS Commission on time
- Lead internal and external audits, and keep programs compliant with the NDS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct
- Build partnerships with families, Support Coordinators, LACs, community organisations and councils
- Promote culturally protected practice, and make sure participants can communicate in their preferred language

About you

You're an experienced disability sector leader who cares about outcomes for participants and growth for staff. You'll bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Disability, Community Services, Social Work, Allied Health or a related field (a Diploma or degree is preferred)
- Experience leading teams that deliver NDIS community participation and/or centre-based day programs
- Proven people-management skills, including supervision, performance management and staff development
- A strong understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards, the Code of Conduct and the NDS Pricing Arrangements
- Solid knowledge of safeguarding, restrictive practices, incident management and NDS Commission reporting
- Budget, resource and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of WHS in centre-based and community settings, including lone-worker safety
- Confidence with client management systems and Microsoft Office

Mandatory requirements:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NSW Working with Children Check
- Valid driver’s licence
- Evidence of working rights in Australia
- Bilingual skills — particularly vietnamese
- Experience with rostering systems and incident management platform

Why join Upwards Living?

- Be part of an organisation with a clear vision to lift industry standards and empower people to live independently and thrive in their communities.
- Lead a committed team making a real difference in the lives of older people every day.
- Opportunities for professional growth and involvement in service development and continuous improvement.
