Job Type: Full time

- Executive leadership opportunity in a leading independent school
- Shape financial strategy, operations and long-term sustainability
- Join a values-led, inclusive and high-performing College community

The Position

Overnewton Anglican Community College is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business and Finance to provide high-level leadership across the College's financial and business operations.

The Director of Business and Finance is a key leadership role within the College, reporting directly to the Principal and a member of the College Executive and the wider College Leadership Team, providing strategic and operational leadership of the College's financial, commercial, operational and governance functions.

Appointed by the Board in consultation with the Principal, the Director of Business and Finance is responsible for the careful stewardship of the College's assets, including its finances, facilities, systems and information, to ensure the College remains financially sustainable and faithfully serves its students and families for many years to come. The position oversees finance, payroll, facilities and grounds, procurement and contract management, accounts payable and receivable, digital and information systems, and significant bodies of work related to College risk and compliance.

In this executive position, the Director of Business and Finance also holds the office of Company Secretary. As the College's chief governance adviser, the Director of Business and Finance supports the Board to ensure the College meets its obligations under the Corporations Act 2001, the requirements of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, the governance standards of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, and the College Constitution.

The Director of Business and Finance works closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principals, the Director of Human Resources and the College Leadership Team to deliver on the strategic and operational priorities of the College. The role is a key adviser to the Principal and the Board on all matters relating to business, finance, infrastructure and governance, and requires sound cultural acumen, strong commercial judgement and a heart for serving a large educational community.

The College is at a natural inflection point. The role will lead the College through a period of significant financial, operational and capital planning change, including the costing and implementation of a new Enterprise Agreement, the strengthening of the College's risk, compliance and digital systems, and the delivery of the College's capital investment program.

Overnewton College has a responsive organisational culture; the responsibilities within this role may be altered to adapt to the evolving needs of the College.
