About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Dispensary Technician to join the team at Budgewoi Discount Drug Store. This is a part time position based in Budgewoi, NSW 2262. As a Dispensary Technician, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations, supporting the delivery of efficient and accurate pharmaceutical services to our community.

You will work closely with our pharmacists and healthcare team to ensure the safe preparation and dispensing of medications, contributing directly to the health and wellbeing of our customers.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and safety

- Managing and maintaining inventory of pharmaceutical stock, including ordering, receiving and organising medications

- Operating pharmacy dispensing systems and computer software to process prescriptions efficiently

- Providing customer service by responding to enquiries and explaining medication usage and side effects to patients

- Labelling medications accurately with patient information, dosage instructions and expiry dates

- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the dispensary work area and equipment

- Assisting with the receipt and filing of prescriptions from doctors and healthcare providers

- Supporting stock control procedures and conducting regular stock checks

- Following all health and safety regulations and pharmacy industry standards

- Contributing to the overall efficiency of the pharmacy by supporting team members as needed

What we're looking for

- A relevant qualification or certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant, or equivalent training recognised in Australia

- Proven experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is highly desirable

- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software and electronic systems





- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling medications

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently

- Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff and healthcare professionals
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting patient privacy in accordance with relevant legislation
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a pharmacy team
- A genuine interest in pharmaceutical care and customer service

- Knowledge of medication interactions and basic pharmaceutical principles is advantageous
