Our new Ashburton studio opens in February 2027, and we're on the hunt for superstar STRONG Instructors to join our founding team.

Position Overview
We're building a team of STRONG Instructors who are passionate about Pilates, strength and cardio training, have the personality to match, and love helping people move.

What makes a STRONG Instructor?
You don't just guide a class. You're the motivator and the multitasker, with a STRONG presence in the room. You're a natural people person with exceptional customer service skills.

Our instructors are the lifeblood of our business, and a team of exceptional instructors determines the success of a studio. We value a diverse team, and all STRONG Instructors need the following as standard:

ONE of the following: Cert III or IV in Fitness, a reformer Pilates certification, a diploma in dance, or a bachelor's degree in a related field

Current First Aid and CPR

Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance

At least 6 months of group fitness teaching experience

This is your chance to get in on the ground floor. We want passionate team members who are excited to help build awareness, grow our community and launch the studio together. Through this hiring process we'll also be looking for a Studio Manager to lead the studio and its team.

What is the STRONG Academy?
All successful applicants will be invited to complete the ROBUST Academy, the first step in our instructor pathway. The Academy is fully funded by STRONG, and instructor positions are offered on successful completion of the Academy and final assessments. As an Academy student, you'll build:

Knowledge of the STRONG brand

Confidence with STRONG repertoire and class styles

An understanding of the STRONG methodology, including rowing, riding, Pilates, and strength and conditioning principles

Confidence with STRONG tech, including mics, lights, TVs and clickers

The Academy runs as an online week followed by two in-studio weekends. Full attendance is required for all days and workshops, and you must pass the practical and online STRONG exam to be offered a position.

Week 0 (online): 30 October - 6 November

Learn the STRONG training methodology and get to know the brand

Week 1: 13-15 November

STRONG brand breakdown: rowformer, props and class styles

The STRONG cueing method

Introduction to the STRONG Portal and Facebook page

Exercise breakdown: abs, upper body and common no-spring exercises

Building client relationships and the member experience

Strength and conditioning principles

Practice teaching time each day

Week 2: 20-22 November

Exercise breakdown: legs and glutes

Personality and stage presence, including lights, music, mic and TV

Practice teaching time each day

Preparation for final assessments: practical and online SOLID exam
