Harvey Developments is seeking a motivated Electrician to join our team, working across Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, remote communities and the wider Barkly and Central Australian region.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys getting out on the road, working across different sites and taking ownership of their jobs. No 2 weeks are necessarily the same, with work ranging from residential and government maintenance through to remote community works, mine camps, private electrical jobs and new construction projects.

About the role

· Residential and housing maintenance, including works in remote communities

· Government building electrical maintenance, repairs and upgrades

· Mine camp maintenance, repairs and electrical installations

· New commercial and residential construction projects

· Private electrical works, fault finding and repairs

· Switchboard, power, lighting and general electrical installations

· Testing, fault finding and compliance works

· Regular travel throughout Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, remote communities and the Barkly region

· Planning and organising your daily workload and required materials

· Assisting with material procurement and job planning

· Completing job documentation and reporting

· Working independently or alongside an apprentice and other trades

· Providing guidance and training to apprentices where required

· Liaising professionally with clients, tenants, site representatives and project management

About you

We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and comfortable taking responsibility for their own work. You should be able to arrive at a job, assess what is required, communicate any issues and complete the work safely and to a high standard.

· NT electrical licence,



or ability to obtain the appropriate NT electrical licence

· Experience across electrical maintenance and/or construction

· Robust fault-finding and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Ability and willingness to work with, supervise and mentor apprentices

· Current Australian driver's licence

· Construction White Card

· Strong focus on safety, quality and compliance

· Good communication and job-reporting skills

· Willingness to undertake significant driving and travel to remote locations

· Ability to work effectively as part of a wider construction and maintenance team

Highly regarded but not essential

· Split-system air-conditioning installation or service accreditation

· Data and communications experience

· Security and access-control experience

· Fire detection and fire systems experience

· Generator or remote-site electrical experience

· Experience working in remote communities
