About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated, commercially minded Estimator & Business Development Officer to join our growing earthmoving, concrete pumping, and concreting business.

This is an all-in-one role for someone who understands the construction industry, knows how to price jobs competitively and profitably, and has the confidence and industry connections to bring in new work.

You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, preparing quotes and tenders, building strong client relationships and driving business growth across all areas of our operations.

We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the entire process — from identifying opportunities and pricing jobs through to following up quotes, negotiating with clients and winning contracts.

We want someone who can generate work, secure contracts and contribute directly to the growth and profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates, quotations and tenders for concreting, concrete pumping, and earthmoving in civil construction projects.
- Identify and pursue current business opportunities across civil contractors, builders, developers and infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Proactively follow up quotes and tenders to convert opportunities into profitable work.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project documentation.
- Calculate labour, machinery, equipment, concrete,



materials, subcontractor, transport and operational costs.
- Identify upcoming projects and establish relationships with project managers, site supervisors, estimators and procurement teams.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of leads, quotations, tenders and upcoming projects.
- Identify opportunities to secure additional work across our concreting, concrete pumping and earthmoving services.
- Monitor tender outcomes, client feedback and market opportunities.
- Work closely with management and operations to ensure jobs are priced commercially and delivered profitably.
- Take ownership of business development activities and contribute to increasing revenue, securing repeat work and expanding our client base.

About You Ideally, you will have:

- Experience estimating in construction, concreting, concrete pumping, earthmoving or a related industry.
- A strong understanding of construction methods, concreting operations, plant and equipment, labour requirements and project costs.
- The ability to read plans, measure quantities and prepare accurate, commercially sound estimates.
- A proven ability to generate new business and convert enquiries and tenders into awarded contracts.
- Existing industry contacts and the confidence to develop new client relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of job margins,



costs and profitability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
- The initiative to identify opportunities, follow up leads and actively pursue new work rather than simply wait for enquiries.

Experience across multiple areas of construction, particularly concreting, concrete pumping and earthmoving, will be highly regarded. What We Offer
