About the role

Queensland Dental Services is seeking an Experienced Dental Service Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on technical role based in Morningside QLD 4170, with responsibilities extending across our Brisbane and Gold Coast locations. As a Dental Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing and servicing dental equipment, ensuring our clinics operate smoothly and our patients receive uninterrupted quality care.

This position is essential to the operational excellence of our dental practices and directly impacts the patient experience.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on dental equipment including chairs, handpieces, sterilisation units and associated clinical systems
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns across Brisbane and Gold Coast locations to minimise downtime
- Conduct preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment operates at optimal performance and meets safety standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults, replacing components and parts as required
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all equipment servicing and repairs
- Liaise with dental staff to understand equipment issues and provide technical solutions
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and equipment manufacturer specifications
- Keep up to date with new dental equipment technologies and service requirements
- Source replacement parts and manage inventory of essential service materials

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification in electrical work, mechanical engineering or dental equipment servicing (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
- Proven experience servicing and repairing dental equipment in a clinical environment
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between Brisbane and Gold Coast locations
- Understanding of health and safety requirements in dental practice settings




- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls efficiently
- Physical capability to perform hands-on technical work and lift equipment as required
- Certification in first aid and CPR (desirable)
- Knowledge of dental practice management systems (desirable)
