Our client is a growing Sydney CBD commercial law firm looking for intellectual property practitioners at Partner or Special Counsel level who want a stronger platform to grow their practice. It suits an established Partner looking for better support and economics, a Special Counsel with a transportable practice, or a senior practitioner ready to lead. Boutique principals and sole practitioners considering a merger or succession are also welcome to make contact.

About the role:





You’ll lead and grow an IP practice advising the firm's commercial and brand-led clients.

Responsibilities:

- Advising on trade marks, copyright, designs and brand protection
- Drafting and negotiating licensing, commercialisation and technology agreements
- Managing IP portfolios and enforcement strategies
- Running or overseeing IP disputes and infringement matters
- Building a team and cross-referring with the firm's commercial and disputes groups

What you’ll bring:

- 8+ years' post-admission experience in intellectual property
- A portable practice or established client following that covers your remuneration (essential)
- Admission in Australia and an unrestricted NSW practising certificate
- A track record of business development and long-term client relationships
- The leadership ability to build and mentor a team
- An entrepreneurial approach and the ambition to grow your practice
