Director of Human Resources - Overnewton

Lead strategic people and culture transformation across the College

Lead staff engagement, workforce planning and organisational change

Strengthen HR, work health and safety, and child safety systems

The Position

Overnewton Anglican Community College is seeking an experienced and strategic people and culture leader to join the College as its next Director of Human Resources.

The Director of Human Resources is a key leadership role within the College, reporting directly to the Principal and a member of the College Leadership Team and College Executive, providing an inspiring, strategic and contemporary vision for people and culture in an independent school setting.

The Director of Human Resources works closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principals, the Director of Business and Finance, and the wider College Leadership Team to advance the College’s current Strategic Intent. The role will have a particular focus on people-related priorities, including talent acquisition, stakeholder experience, staff professional growth and leadership development.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the delivery of human resource management strategy in areas including employee engagement and cultural change, organisational design and transformation, leadership, talent management and succession, workforce planning, capability development, performance and organisational efficiency.

The College is at a natural inflection point. This role will lead the College through a period of significant industrial and organisational change, including the negotiation and implementation of a new Enterprise Agreement, the redesign of the Human Resources function, and the strengthening of the College’s work health,

safety and child safety systems.

The Director of Human Resources is expected to operate as a trusted adviser to the Principal and the College Leadership Team, while building positive and trusting relationships with staff across the College. A warm, approachable and people-centred leader, they will have an excellent read on organisational culture and bring the sound judgement, credibility and pace required to strengthen human resources, work health and safety, and child safety.

Overnewton has a responsive organisational culture; the responsibilities within this role may be altered to adapt to the evolving needs of the College.

The Director of Human Resources will be required to work across Canowindra and Yirramboi as this role is a College-wide role.
