Locum General Psychiatry Registrar - Broken Hill, NSW

About the Role: We are seeking a General Psychiatry Registrar for a short locum placement at the principal referral hospital for Far West New South Wales, in Broken Hill, NSW. This contract runs from 16 to 20 November 2026. You will join a hospital of approximately 100 beds that serves a vast regional and rural catchment, working within team-oriented multidisciplinary teams and gaining broad clinical exposure across a diverse range of mental health presentations.

- Assess and manage general adult psychiatry presentations across inpatient and community settings
- Provide clinical care across a broad range of acute and complex mental health presentations
- Participate in ward rounds, case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with senior medical staff, nursing and allied health teams
- Contribute to risk assessment, treatment planning and discharge coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

About You:

- AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner
- Currently practising at Registrar level in Psychiatry
- Confident managing a broad range of acute mental health presentations
- Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Available for the full contract period
- Eligible to work in Australia
