Johnson & Rielly Mitre 10 is seeking a Timber & Hardware Sales assistant to join our team on a casual basis which includes Sunday's . This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the retail and consumer products industry, specifically within the hardware and building materials sector. Based at our Niddrie VIC 3042 location, you will be at the heart of customer service, helping both trade professionals and DIY enthusiasts find exactly what they need. This position is integral to delivering an exceptional shopping experience and driving sales across our timber and hardware departments.Must have for lift license and Current Drivers license.
What you'll be doing
Assisting customers in locating timber, hardware and building materials products throughout the store
Providing product knowledge and recommendations to help customers make informed purchasing decisions
Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale
Maintaining clean, well-organised and fully stocked shelves and displays within the timber and hardware departments
Supporting stock control activities, including receiving, checking and pricing merchandise
Responding promptly to customer enquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and courtesy
Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and a welcoming store environment
Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
What we're looking for
Previous retail or customer service experience is highly desirable, particularly in hardware, building materials or home improvement retail.Must have fork lift license and able to work Sunday's.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse customer groups
A friendly,
approachable demeanour with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service
Basic numeracy and literacy skills for processing transactions and understanding product information
Physical capability to handle, lift and move timber, hardware products and materials safely
Willingness to learn about products and develop product knowledge relevant to timber and hardware
Reliability, punctuality and flexibility with scheduling for casual work arrangements
An understanding of or willingness to learn health and safety practices relevant to hardware retail environments
