Expressions of Interest

Kean Energy Resources (KER) is an industrial services contractor delivering structural, mechanical and passive fire protection works for the energy and resources sector, including live refinery and process-plant sites in Brisbane.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced trades for anticipated passive fire protection and structural repair work in Brisbane. We expect to build several small crews for campaign-style work on a day-shift roster, with the potential for ongoing work for the right people.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- Leading Hands - Passive Fire Protection

– Working leading hands to run a small crew on a work front; daily permits and pre-starts, work-front set-up, removal and application work, inspection records and hold-point notices. Industrial coatings / PFP background with experience leading a crew; epoxy intumescent (Chartek or equivalent) application experience essential.
- PFP Applicators / Industrial Painters

– Surface preparation, mixing and spray or trowel application of epoxy intumescent PFP with mesh, wet-film and dry-film checks, primer and topcoat. Industrial coatings experience with PFP; plural-component spray and blasting tickets highly regarded.
- Boilermakers / Welders (structural)

– Template, fit up and weld structural plate and reinforcement repairs under hot work permits in a live plant. Trade-qualified with current AS/NZS 1554.1 welder qualifications; refinery or petrochemical experience highly regarded.
- Blasters / Painters

– Contained abrasive blasting,



power-tool preparation and UHP water-jet cleaning of exposed steel ahead of PFP application; containment and housekeeping. Blasting and painting experience; UHP water-jetting experience an advantage.
- Trades Assistants / Labourers

– Saw-cutting and jackhammering concrete fireproofing, UHP water-jet operation (training provided), dust containment, waste handling, materials handling at height and support to the applicators. Demolition / breaker experience and physical fitness for sustained work at heights.

ABOUT YOU:

- Construction induction (white card)
- Working at heights ticket
- Confined space and EWP license (highly advantageous)
- Experience in refinery, petrochemical, LNG or similar live-plant environments under a permit-to-work system

– Essential for leading hands and welders

– Highly regarded for all other roles

- National police clearance within the last 3 months (Or the ability to obtain one)
- Full rights to work in Australia
- Current driver's license - Brisbane based or willing to self-relocate (travel and accommodation are not provided)
- Reliable and safety-focused, available for campaign style day shift work when it is confirmed
