The Role We're looking for a Finance Support Officer to join a small, high-performing project team delivering an enhanced Defence capability in Canberra. On behalf of the Project Manager, you'll support financial planning and reporting and complete purchasing activities across the project.

This is a support role, best suited to a finance or financial administration professional with a few years' experience. You should be comfortable working autonomously, taking initiative and managing competing priorities, with the foundations to handle budgets, payments and financial records on a large project.

Key Responsibilities

- Support financial planning and reporting on behalf of the Project Manager
- Prepare financial performance reports
- Support long- and short-term budget planning for a large project budget
- Update financial management records to keep them aligned with project plans
- Support and conduct major project payments
- Complete purchasing activities across the project
- Draft financial documents in line with organisational policies and guidelines
- Contribute to a small, high-performing project team

Required

- Formal qualifications in Finance or financial administration




- Demonstrated skills and experience in budgetary and financial management
- Demonstrated experience drafting financial documents in line with organisational policies and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take initiative in performing duties
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- AQF Level 6 qualification or higher relevant to the role highly regarded
- Experience in a government financial role highly regarded
- Experience in a Defence project environment highly regarded

Salary $107,000 - $112,000 (Package incl. Super)
