About The Role An experienced Head Chef is needed for a permanent role at a long-standing independent restaurant in Edinburgh's Old Town, part of a family-owned Scottish group. The successful candidate will run the kitchen, serving seasonal Scottish dishes from morning through evening, alongside busy events and private dining. Working 45 hours weekly, typical shifts run 8am or 9am until 6pm.

Pay comprises a £33,530 basic wage plus tronc of at least £8,000, giving a package around £41,500, with a bonus scheme worth up to 15% after six months.

The restaurant serves from morning through to evening and has a busy events and private dining side alongside its day to day trade. The cooking is seasonal and Scottish, with a focus on local sourcing and quality ingredients.

The Head

Chef will lead the brigade, write the seasonal and event menus, run the pass through service, handle ordering, stock and rotas, and work to food cost and labour budgets.

This suits an established Head Chef, or a solid Senior Sous ready for their first kitchen, who likes being on the stoves and wants to put their stamp on a restaurant.
