About Total Mine Solutions

Total Mine Solutions has provided engineering, field maintenance and labour hire to the resources industry since 2010. We’re a Queensland company and a tier one contractor in the Bowen Basin. Our trade crews work embedded in BMA’s owner maintenance teams at Peak Downs, one of the largest coal operations in the basin, and they’ve been there for years.

We’re not a big recruitment agency. When you ring, you get Matthew or Chelsea, the people who actually run the business and decide who gets placed. If something isn’t working, you talk to us and we sort it.

The roles

We’re adding heavy diesel fitters and auto electricians to our Peak Downs crews across three areas:

- Ancillary fleet: CAT and Komatsu trucks, graders, water carts and support gear. Permanent, long term roster positions.
- Service bay: the site’s road registered fleet. Kenworth, Isuzu and Volvo highway trucks, plus light vehicles and ancillary equipment through the workshop.
- Relief and shutdowns: holiday cover, short gaps and shutdown crews across both areas. Positive if you’ve got your own ABN and want to pick your swings.

Most of this work is long term and ongoing. These are owner’s team positions, so you work to site maintenance plans with site tooling and site standards, not fly by night breakdown work. Roster, location and accommodation

- Moranbah, Bowen Basin QLD
- Even time rosters: 7/7 day shift only, or 6/6 rotating day and night shift. Both fitter and auto electrician roles
- DIDO and FIFO options, with accommodation and meals included
- 12.25 hour shifts
- Engage on your own ABN or as PAYG,

What you’ll be doing

- Scheduled servicing, inspections and component change outs on CAT and Komatsu mobile plant
- Maintenance and repairs on Kenworth, Isuzu and Volvo highway trucks in the service bay
- Auto electricians: fault finding and repair of electrical systems, wiring and harnesses, lighting, charging and starting systems across the same fleet
- Breakdown response and defect rectification
- Working to site maintenance plans and safety systems, completing job cards and prestarts

What you’ll need

- Trade qualification as a heavy diesel fitter, plant mechanic or auto electrician
- Good to have: BMA or Bowen Basin site experience, current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical, and experience on CAT or Komatsu fleet. None of these are essential. If you’re the right tradesperson, we’ll help you get what’s missing.

What’s on offer

- $81.00 to $107.38 per hour PAYG plus super, depending on classification (Level 2 or Level 3) and shift. Night shift and weekends pay more.
- Subcontractor option from $95 per hour ex GST day shift, with loadings for nights and weekends [confirm]
