In-Home Aged Care Support Worker | Paid Cert IV Traineeship

Skilled Care is partnering with an aged care provider to recruit in-home support workers across the greater Campbelltown region. We’re particularly interested in people who already hold a relevant Certificate III and want to develop their skills through a Certificate IV in Ageing Support traineeship.

New to aged care? We also welcome applicants interested in gaining their Certificate III and starting a career in care.

Earn while you learn

You’ll be employed directly by our partner aged care provider, with your qualification delivered by Skilled Care.

- Three hours of paid, rostered training each week through live, trainer-led online classes.

- Fee-free training for eligible trainees, subject to funding and eligibility checks.

- Support from Skilled Care throughout your qualification.

- Opportunities to put your learning into practice in your day-to-day care role.

About the position

- Permanent part-time employment, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week.

- Work supporting older people across the greater Shoalhaven region.

- Roles generally worked Monday to Friday, between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.

- Consistent availability — you don’t need to be available all five days.

- SCHADS Award pay, with your applicable hourly rate confirmed before you accept an offer.

- Kilometre allowance for travel between clients.

What you’ll do

Provide practical, person-centred support that helps older people maintain their independence, dignity and connection to their community.

Depending on each client’s care plan, your training and your assessed skills, your duties may include:

- Assisting with personal care, including showering,



dressing and daily routines.

- Helping with meal preparation, light household tasks, laundry and shopping.

- Providing transport to appointments and community activities.

- Offering companionship and supporting social connection.

- Assisting with medication within your training and the employer’s procedures.

- Recording the support provided and reporting changes or concerns.

Already hold your Certificate III?

We’d particularly love to hear from you if you:

- Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or a relevant equivalent.

- Have experience supporting older people and feel comfortable working in clients’ homes.

- Want to complete your Certificate IV in Ageing Support while continuing to earn an income.

Experience supporting a family member or working in a people-focused role is valued. We’re looking for reliability, empathy, a willingness to learn and a respectful approach to supporting others.

What you’ll need

- A caring, respectful approach, reliability and a willingness to learn.

- Explicit communication skills to support clients, follow care plans and complete care records.

- Consistent availability for a minimum of 15 hours per week and participation in scheduled training.

- A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle.

- The right to work in Australia.

- A National Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain the required checks before commencing.
