Tandoori Chef – Madam Ji Modern Indian Restaurant (Darlinghurst)

Madam Ji is looking for an experienced and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team in the heart of Darlinghurst.

Position

Tandoori Chef

Full-time / Part-time available

Location: Darlinghurst, Sydney NSW

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes including naan, roti, kebabs, tikka, and grilled specialties
- Operate and manage the tandoor oven safely and efficiently
- Marinate meats, seafood, and vegetables using authentic Indian spices and recipes
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
- Monitor food preparation and cooking times during busy service periods
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimizing food wastage
- Work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to develop and improve menu items




- Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Tandoori Chef in an Indian restaurant
- Strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and spices
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
