The Role

This role offers genuine variety and responsibility. You will lead civil engineering delivery across the full project lifecycle, working closely with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.

Based remotely anywhere in Australia (with optional Brisbane or Perth office access), you'll have the flexibility to work when and where you're most productive, with the autonomy to lead projects and technical outcomes, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Civil Team Lead, this position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:

- Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering projects across Mining, Industrial, Defence and Land Development throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare, lead and review designs, engineering calculations, specifications and technical documentation for earthworks, roadworks, drainage, water and wastewater infrastructure
- Lead coordination with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients and key project stakeholders
- Provide senior technical support during construction, including site inspections, design clarifications and responses to contractor RFIs
- Lead and review cost estimates,



tender documentation and technical reports for clients and regulatory authorities
- Lead the development of practical, constructible solutions aligned with project objectives, technical risk and client requirements
- Lead project delivery, including management of scope, schedules, budgets, technical risks and key stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and design review, and contribute to the continued development of our Civil capability
- Provide technical review and assurance of civil designs, calculations, drawings and engineering deliverables
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposals, fee development and future project opportunities

About You You are an experienced Senior / Lead Civil Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of technically engaging projects, working directly with clients and providing sound technical and project leadership.

You will Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years experience in civil engineering roles (consultancy preferred)
- CPEng and/or RPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain relevant qualified registration
- Demonstrated ability to lead the design and delivery of civil projects, including technical design, engineering calculations, stakeholder coordination and management of project schedules, budgets and technical risk
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and providing technical assurance of civil engineering designs, calculations and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers
- Experience contributing to proposals,



tenders and business development activities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian, State and local government standards for earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage, water and wastewater design.
- Current Australian 'C' Class Driver's license

Highly Regarded Skills

- Experience in Land Development, Mining, Industrial, Defence or Fuel projects.
- Proficiency with design software such AutoCAD, Civil 3D, DRAINS, QGIS & HY-8.
- Experience developing technical standards, design processes, tools or engineering capability within a civil team.
