Position Summary The Bar Supervisor plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the bar, bridging the gap between the bartending team and bar management. They maintain high service standards, oversee workflow during shifts, and provide guidance to junior team members.

The Bar Supervisor ensures the bar is prepared, efficient, and consistent, while supporting stock control processes and contributing to a strong, positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Shift & Service Leadership

- Supervise bar operations during service, ensuring pace, consistency, and smooth workflow.

- Lead by example in drink quality, professionalism, and guest engagement.

- Provide real-time coaching and support to bartenders and bar backs.

- Help manage ticket flow during peak periods, maintaining calm, clear communication.

Drink Quality & Operations

- Ensure cocktails and beverages meet brand specifications for taste, presentation, and speed.

- Support setup, pack-down, and station resets to ensure the bar is clean, organised, and fully stocked.

- Maintain glassware, garnishes, tools, and equipment to operational standards.

Stock & Waste Awareness

- Assist with stock rotation, restocking, and maintaining accurate par levels.

- Monitor and report wastage or stock concerns to the Assistant Bar Manager / Bar Manager.





- Support weekly stocktakes through accurate counting and product knowledge.

Training & Team Culture

- Support onboarding of current bartenders and bar backs.

- Assist with basic training such as cocktail specs, product knowledge, and service expectations.

- Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful team environment.

- Encourage cross-training opportunities between bar and floor teams when required.

Guest Experience

- Deliver welcoming, confident, and engaging guest interactions.

- Provide accurate food menu guidance for guests seated at the bar, including allergen

information and safe service communication.
- Make recommendations based on menu knowledge and guest preferences.

- Help uphold the brand atmosphere through energy, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Compliance & Safety

- Ensure RSA compliance and uphold hygiene and WHS standards at all times.

- Report equipment issues, hazards, or incidents promptly.

- Maintain bar cleanliness and safety throughout the shift.

Support to Bar Leadership

- Provide reliable support to the Assistant Bar Manager and Bar Manager during service.

- Step into a supervisory role during their absence, ensuring continuity of standards.

- Assist with minor administrative or operational tasks when delegated (e.g., prep lists, product checks).
