Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Application Developer for a government client engagement through IBM. Based in Brisbane, this contract offers a hybrid arrangement combining onsite collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. The proposed start date is 9 November 2026, with an initial duration of 7.7 months.

You will join an Agile Scrum team designing, building and maintaining cross-platform applications for iOS and Android using C#, .NET MAUI and Xamarin. Your work will span the full development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing support.

Daily responsibilities include writing clean, efficient and well-documented code, integrating APIs and services, collaborating with technical and delivery teams, and troubleshooting application issues.



You will contribute to performance and usability improvements, code reviews and development practices that support secure, accessible and maintainable applications.

Qualifications

- At least five years of mobile application development experience, including at least three years focused on .NET MAUI, Xamarin.Forms and Xamarin.Native.
- Strong proficiency in C#, the .NET framework and object-oriented programming principles.
- Proven experience building cross-platform iOS and Android applications, with an understanding of mobile architectures and application lifecycle requirements.
- Australian Baseline security clearance, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Ability to analyse requirements, resolve technical problems and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and time-management skills, with experience contributing to Agile delivery teams.

- Experience delivering applications for government agencies.
- RESTful API integration, cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
- Git, mobile testing methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility and mobile security.
- Experience with mobile deployment and app store submission processes.
