JCI East and West Melbourne is part of a global network. We are looking to form an energetic Executive Committee for 2027 with individuals who are passionate about creating a positive impact in communities whilst wanting to develop and increase your professional network.

Some of the recent past events/projects we have run concurrently with leaders in the industries include:

- A financial literacy education program for the community that ran over 4 weeks with expert speakers from the industry
- Workshop on building your personal brand, growing your network and creating new opportunities
- Workshop on emotional intelligence and unlocking your leadership potential
- Workshop on leading a sales team
- World Clean Up Day
- ....and more The possibilities are endless. As a board member, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passions into meaningful initiatives, whether that’s championing a cause close to your heart, driving social impact, or creating professional development opportunities for our community. If there’s something you’re passionate about, you can take the lead in bringing it to life.

Who are we looking for?

- Someone with a can-do attitude. We are an organisation that has a strong focus on delivering grassroots initiatives. So if you don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty, we want to hear from you.

- Someone with a positive mindset. Doing good for the community can be challenging at times. If you can accept life doesn’t always travel in a straight line, then we would love to have you on board.





- Someone with a learning attitude. JCI is an organisation that provides development opportunities to empower young people to make positive change. It’s okay if you don’t have all the skills to run a committee or deliver a project as long as you are willing to learn.

What are the opportunities on offer?

We are forming an Executive Committee, which will plan and deliver meaningful initiatives in 2027.

Some of the key positions include President, Secretary and Treasurer .

Additional portfolios such as Director of Governance, Membership Engagement and Management, Communications and Events and Partnerships Management may also be available.

As a minimum

- 12 x Monthly Board Meeting (1-2 hours)

It would be expected that Executive Committee Members

- Support grassroots community projects and initiatives
- Interstate and even overseas opportunities exist but not mandatory

Activities are planned by the board, whether on weekends, or weekday nights. Therefore you as the board can jointly determine a schedule that works for all, and therefore the associated time commitment of planning those activities.

Training

Provided. Volunteers will be part of a global training network in addition to local and national training. There will be opportunities to attend international events.
