About CLS

Consolidated Linen Service (CLS) is a family-owned and operated commercial laundry business with over 30 years of industry experience and a strong presence across Regional Queensland.

Servicing more than 800 customers across the hospitality, healthcare and aged care sectors, CLS provides essential linen and garment rental and laundry services to some of Queensland's most recognised hotels, hospitals and resorts.

With approximately 350 employees, four processing plants, three distribution centres and a fleet of 30 vehicles, CLS continues to invest in its people, technology, infrastructure and operational capabilities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead our established Gladstone laundry operation.

Processing approximately 50 tonnes of linen each week and employing around 40 team members, our Gladstone site services customers throughout Gladstone and the surrounding region, including Biloela, Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy.

Reporting to the Central Queensland General Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the site, including production, people management, customer relationships, administration, service delivery and operational costs.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who is equally comfortable managing a busy production environment, developing their team, reviewing business performance and meeting directly with customers.

We are looking for an all-round manager who takes ownership, leads from the front and understands that operational efficiency and customer satisfaction go hand in hand.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Business Performance

- Oversee daily operations across production, administration, warehouse, deliveries and maintenance.

- Manage production planning, staffing, rosters and resources to meet operational and customer requirements.

- Monitor productivity,



labour costs, operating expenses and overall site performance.

- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and control costs.

- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimise operational disruptions.

- Maintain high standards of product quality, workplace safety and housekeeping.

People Leadership

- Lead, motivate and develop a workforce of approximately 40 employees.

- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and team leaders.

- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, performance and employee development.

- Build a positive, accountable and safety-focused workplace culture.

- Maintain a visible and approachable presence across all areas of the operation.

Customer Relationships & Service Delivery

- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the Gladstone service region.

- Conduct regular customer visits, service reviews and account meetings.

- Take ownership of customer concerns and ensure timely, practical resolutions.

- Oversee customer service and administration functions to ensure accurate orders, records and communication.

- Work closely with delivery teams to maintain reliable and efficient service.

- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing customer relationships and support business growth.

- Collaborate with our Rockhampton operation and wider CLS network to deliver consistent service standards.

About You

We are looking for a capable, commercially minded leader who can balance operational performance, people management and customer expectations.

You may come from a background in manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, industrial services or another operational environment.





Previous commercial laundry experience is not essential.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Proven experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong leadership skills, including experience managing supervisors or team leaders.

- Sound commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, labour costs and operational performance.

- Strong customer relationship management and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills.

- The ability to prioritise competing demands and make practical decisions.

- A proactive, hands-on management style with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.

- Confidence using Microsoft Office and business management systems.

- A commitment to workplace health and safety.

- A current C Class driver's licence.
