About the role

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Operator Maintainer to join our Cogeneration (Cogen) Power Plant team at our Carina West Processing Facility. This role is responsible for supporting the secure, reliable and efficient operation of a renewable energy power generation facility, including steam boilers, turbines, pressure vessels, fuel handling systems, water treatment plant equipment, pumps, conveyors and associated balance-of-plant equipment.

Working on a 7 day on, 7 day off roster, you will play a key role in power plant operations and maintenance, carrying out preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise plant reliability, availability and performance.

What you'll do

- Perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on power generation and plant equipment.
- Assist with the operation, monitoring and optimisation of boilers, steam generation systems and turbines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment faults and identify opportunities to improve plant reliability.
- Support outage planning, shutdown activities and major maintenance projects.
- Work safely in accordance with site procedures, permit systems and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.




- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency and reliability.

What we're looking for

- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter & Turner, Fitter/Machinist or similar).
- Boilermaker/Welder Trade Qualification.
- Advanced BA Boiler and TO Turbine tickets.
- Experience within a power generation, cogeneration, utility, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Experience maintaining steam boilers, pressure vessels, turbines, pumps, conveyors, rotating equipment and associated plant infrastructure.
- Experience operating pressure vessels and steam generation equipment.
- Forklift and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licences.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
