Band 3 - $34.76 - $37.20 excluding superannuation and allowances

Southern Grampians Shire Council is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Plant Operator to join our team based at the Penshurst Depot.

This is a hands-on role that offers a diverse range of outdoor work and the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to maintaining and improving Council's road infrastructure across the Shire. About the Role As a Plant Operator, you will undertake a variety of tasks including:

- Driving and operating heavy vehicles and plant equipment
- Bitumen and gravel road patching and maintenance
- Tree trimming and roadside vegetation management
- Roadside slashing operations
- Assisting with road construction and civil infrastructure projects
- Supporting the delivery of safe and efficient works across the municipality

This role requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being confident working independently when required.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver Licence
- Demonstrated experience operating plant and equipment in a civil construction or road maintenance environment
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices
- The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude

The following would be highly regarded:




- Traffic Management accreditation/licences
- Experience in road construction, maintenance, or related civil works
- Chainsaw or vegetation management experience
