Production Line Operators / Machine Operators – Day & Night 12-Hour Shifts

Join Laurent Bakery’s manufacturing team and put your machine operating skills to work on up-to-date bakery production equipment. We have multiple opportunities for experienced, mechanically minded Production Line Operators across day and night shifts.

Available Shifts

- Day Shift: 6am–6pm, rotating roster, 7-day fortnight

- Night Shift: 6pm–6am, rotating roster, 7-day fortnight

The roster includes one weekend per fortnight, with some public holiday work required.

The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, you’ll operate production and packaging machinery, monitor product quality and help keep our lines running safely and efficiently.

These are hands-on roles suited to operators who enjoy working with machinery, identifying problems and supporting their team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

A forklift licence is highly regarded but not essential. Licensed operators may also assist with stock movements and provide backup forklift support.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up,



operate and monitor production lines and packaging machinery according to standard operating procedures and safety requirements.

- Prepare ingredients, materials and equipment for production runs.

- Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot minor operating issues within your training and escalate faults when required.

- Perform in-process quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.

- Accurately complete production records and quality documentation.

- Assist with line changeovers, equipment cleaning and basic preventative maintenance tasks within your training and authority.

- Follow food safety, allergen management, hygiene and contamination control procedures.

- Maintain clean and organised production and packaging areas.

- Promptly report equipment faults, safety hazards and quality concerns to the Supervisor.

- Work with Quality, Maintenance and Warehouse teams to meet production requirements.

- Assist with moving stock and materials, including forklift operation where licensed and authorised.

What You Bring

- Previous experience as a Line Operator, Production Operator or Machine Operator in FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced production environment.





- Practical mechanical aptitude and confidence operating production equipment.

- The ability to identify operating issues, follow instructions and know when to seek support.

- An understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP and food hygiene requirements.

- Attention to detail when checking products and completing records.

- Reliability, a positive attitude and a willingness to support your team.

- Availability to work your nominated 12-hour rotating roster, including rostered weekends and public holidays as required.

- The ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including lifting items weighing up to 25kg.

- Willingness to undertake some work in freezer environments.

- A forklift licence is highly regarded.
