Role Description The Project Cost Accountant is a full-time role based in the Greater Perth Area with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site and work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive financial and commercial support across multiple projects, ensuring strong financial performance and operational success. Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams, the position develops and maintains project budgets and forecasts, monitors project costs, revenue, profitability, and commitments, and delivers timely financial reporting, analysis, and insights to support informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities include managing project billing, revenue recognition, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, reconciliations, and investigating cost and revenue variances to drive corrective actions and improve project outcomes. The role also oversees Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, and broader finance functions,



while maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with financial policies, audits, and reporting requirements. Acting as a key finance partner to both site-based and remote project teams, the position provides commercial guidance, stakeholder support, and financial oversight, including travel to project and mine sites as required.

Additionally, the role supports general finance and administrative activities, contributing to the efficient operation of the business.

Qualifications & Experience

- Strong project cost accounting skills, including Cost Accounting and Finance applied to mining/ construction projects.
- Ability to prepare and interpret Financial Statements, with experience in project reporting and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Journal Entries (Accounting), general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills for cost analysis, variance investigation, and financial modeling.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Robust attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and a hybrid work environment.
- Prior experience in the resources, mining, engineering or construction sector is highly regarded.
