Role Description The Project Manager role at Amtec Disaster Recovery is a full-time, on-site position located in Melbourne, VIC. This role is responsible for overseeing restoration projects from initial assessment through completion, including planning work scopes, scheduling resources, and managing timelines and budgets.

The Project

Manager coordinates with expeditors, field technicians, contractors, and insurance representatives to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing inspection reports, monitoring work quality, resolving site issues, and maintaining clear communication with clients regarding progress and expectations.

Manager also contributes to continuous process improvement and ensures that health, safety, and compliance standards are rigorously upheld across all projects.

Qualifications

- Strong project management skills, including experience in planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, budget, and timelines.
- Expeditor and expediting skills to accelerate procurement, approvals, and workflow, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Inspection experience and attention to detail in reviewing site conditions, work quality, and compliance with safety and building standards.
- Logistics management skills to coordinate equipment, materials, and personnel across multiple job sites.
- Proven experience in construction, restoration, insurance, or related fields, preferably in disaster recovery environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with clients, insurers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or trade background in construction, engineering, project management, or a similar discipline is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory requirements related to restoration and building work.
- Proficiency with project management and documentation tools; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
