Client-Side Project Manager | Data Centre

Melbourne, VIC | Immediate Start | $1000-$1200 + GST per day

MMD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Client-Side Project Manager to support the delivery of major data centre projects in Melbourne.

This is a hands-on, site-based contract role, responsible for managing the project lifecycle from planning and design coordination through construction, commissioning and handover. You will work closely with the client, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the client-side delivery of data centre construction and fit-out projects.
- Manage project scope, programme, budget, risks, quality and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate design consultants, head contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist technical teams.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across internal leadership,



operational teams and external delivery partners.
- Chair project meetings, track actions and provide transparent progress updates to senior management.
- Review project programmes, procurement schedules, construction progress and key delivery risks.
- Support contract administration, variations, claims, cost control and commercial decision-making.
- Ensure works comply with relevant safety, quality, statutory and technical requirements.
- Manage issue resolution and maintain alignment with key project milestones.

About you:

- Minimum 10 years’ project delivery experience within data centres, health, complex commercial construction, mission-critical facilities or similarly technical building environments.
- Demonstrated client-side or senior project management experience on large, complex construction projects.
- Strong stakeholder-management capability, with confidence engaging senior clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Sound understanding of design management, procurement, construction delivery, commissioning and project handover.
- Commercially astute, with experience managing programme, cost, risk and contractor performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including high-quality reporting.
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is highly regarded.
- Available to commence immediately and work on site in Melbourne.
