About Howden
We are part of the Howden Broking Group, the world's largest privately owned insurance broker, headquartered in London. Since launching in the Pacific region in March 2021, we have grown from a team of three to more than 600 employees across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji – and our growth story is only just beginning.
At Howden, People First is more than a mantra – it shapes how we grow, collaborate and support one another. We believe skills can be taught, but character cannot. You will join a genuinely collegiate and highly engaged team, with the opportunity to contribute ideas, make a visible impact and build your career alongside a business with ambitious plans.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will ideally be based in Sydney or Auckland, although we are happy to consider candidates in other locations where Howden has an office. You will help coordinate acquisitions and strategic initiatives across Howden Pacific. You will work across Operations, Finance, HR, IT, Brand, Distribution and acquired businesses to maintain momentum, manage interdependencies and support the delivery of commercial, operational and cultural synergies.
This role will suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, building trusted relationships and balancing detailed project coordination with a clear view of broader business outcomes. You will have the opportunity to see the tangible impact of your work as Howden continues to grow toward its 2030 ambitions.
- Coordinate end-to-end integration workstreams and strategic projects across multiple business functions.
- Develop and maintain integration plans, project roadmaps, milestones, action logs and RAID registers.
- Track financial, operational and qualitative performance measures, including synergy and benefits realisation.
- Support Day 1 readiness and post-acquisition transition activities.
- Prepare clear project updates, dashboards and executive reporting for senior leaders and governance forums.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops, maintain stakeholder alignment and help resolve delivery blockers.
- Monitor project risks, dependencies and mitigation actions through disciplined governance.
- Support process, system and operating model improvements that enable acquired businesses to integrate effectively.
- Contribute to change, communication and training activities that support operational and cultural integration.
About you
You are an organised, commercially aware project professional who can create clarity, maintain momentum and build productive relationships across a fast-moving business. You are comfortable working through detail, coordinating multiple priorities and constructively following up with stakeholders to keep delivery on track.
- At least three to five years' experience within project management, corporate development, business operations or a related environment. Insurance experience is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience supporting post-merger integration or complex cross-functional transformation projects.
- Strong project coordination and governance capability, with experience managing plans, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to interpret business cases,
performance data and synergy models.
- Solid analytical, reporting and documentation skills, with close attention to detail.
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a growing environment where priorities and processes continue to evolve.
Remuneration and Benefits
Alongside competitive remuneration, you will receive salary continuance insurance, access to Learning & Development opportunities and our bonus leave benefit, with the opportunity to qualify for up to two additional weeks of paid leave each year. Most importantly, you will be joining a growing organisation where your expertise, ideas and contribution will be valued.
