Designs by Michael Yabsley is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Carpenter to join our construction team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane, QLD 4000, offering an exciting opportunity to develop your carpentry skills whilst working on diverse and high-quality construction projects. In this role, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the successful delivery of our clients' vision.

What you'll be doing

Assisting in the preparation of work sites, including measuring, marking and setting out materials according to specifications and architectural plans

Fabricating and installing wooden structures, fixtures and fittings under the guidance of senior carpenters

Using hand and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape and join timber and other materials

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work

Assisting with the assembly and installation of frameworks, doors, windows, stairs and other carpentry elements

Maintaining a clean and organised work site, adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practices

Transporting and handling materials and equipment as required

Supporting senior team members and learning from their expertise to develop your carpentry skills

Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project objectives are met

What we're looking for

Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship and hold a White Card

Sound knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools and materials used in residential and commercial construction

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications accurately





Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting and carrying materials

A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop your skills under supervision

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Current knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and regulations

Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

Preferred: Previous experience working on construction sites in a junior or apprentice capacity
