About the Role

As a Water & Wastewater Operator, you will monitor, control andoperate water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants,pumping stations, recycling facilities and associatedinfrastructure to ensure compliance with legislative, environmentaland operational standards.

This hands-on role also supports infrastructure maintenanceactivities and participates in the after-hours/on-call roster.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Operating and monitoring water and wastewater treatmentinfrastructure
- Maintaining compliance with statutory and environmentalrequirements
- Supporting Drinking Water Quality Management Plans andquality systems
- Coordinating sampling and plant monitoring activities
- Assisting with maintenance coordination and contractorsupervision
- Responding to SCADA alarms and after-hours operationalissues
- Working safely and contributing to a strong teamculture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Water and/or Wastewater Operations orthe ability to obtain within 3 months
- Relevant industry experience operating treatment plants andassociated infrastructure
- Experience with automated operational systems and processcontrol
- Strong problem-solving, communication and organisationalskills
- Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork

The following licences/certifications are required or must beobtained within 6 months:





- Confined Space Entry
- First Aid

This role requires participation in Council’s respiratorfit-testing program.

- as of July 2026 - base rate of $37.82 perhour ($1,437.10 per week) plus:
- $6.50 per hour - additional skillsallowance
