This is an excellent prospect for an Associate looking to join a supportive, high-performing insurance team where you’ll be trusted to manage your own matters while continuing to develop under experienced senior lawyers and Partners.

The Opportunity

Joining an established General Insurance team , you’ll work across a varied portfolio of insurance litigation matters, with a particular focus on motor vehicle property damage, recoveries and related disputes .

You’ll have carriage of your own files, direct contact with insurer and self-insured clients, and the opportunity to develop both your technical expertise and commercial approach.

Your work will include:

- Managing a portfolio of property damage and recovery matters with autonomy
- Running insurance litigation matters from commencement through to resolution
- Drafting pleadings, advices, submissions and correspondence
- Reviewing evidence and advising on liability and quantum
- Preparing for and attending mediations, settlement conferences and court appearances
- Briefing and instructing Counsel and experts
- Working directly with insurers, clients and key stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers and law clerks
- Contributing to client relationships and broader business development initiatives

About You

You’ll be an Australian-admitted lawyer with experience across insurance litigation,



commercial litigation or a related disputes practice .

Ideally, you will bring:

- 2+ years’ post-admission experience
- Experience managing and progressing your own matters
- Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution processes
- A commercial and client-focused approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills

Experience in defendant insurance, motor vehicle claims, property damage or recoveries will be highly regarded, although lawyers with strong transferable litigation experience are also encouraged to apply.
