Whatyou’lldo

As theSenior Payroll Officer, you willbe responsible forthetimelyandaccurateprocessing offortnightly wagespayrolls, ensuring compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Australian legislative requirements.

Operating as a Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME),you’llhandle complex payroll queries, mentor team members,identifyprocess improvement opportunities, and support key payroll and system transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliveraccurateandtimelyfortnightly wagespayroll, including off-cycle payments, payroll reporting, and banking packs
- Resolve complex payroll queries andmaintainaccurateemployee payroll records in line with HR/IR requirements
- Act as a Payroll SME and Super User for Oracle, Preceda and future payroll systems
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, Awards, EnterpriseAgreementsand employment contracts
- Develop andmaintainpayroll process documentation, and lead onboarding,trainingand coaching of payroll team members
- Collaborate with HR,Financeand wider business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and effective delivery outcomes

WhatYou’llNeed to Succeed

You’rean experienced payroll professional with a robust understanding of Australian payroll legislation and a passion for accuracy,improvementand teamwork.

You will bring:





- 2–5 years’ experience in payroll processing (mining industry experience highly regarded)
- Robust experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Proven ability to manage complex payroll matters with confidence
- Experience withHR &payroll; systems such as Oracle HRIS,Precedaor Dayforce(desirable)
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong time management and multitasking capability
- A calm, professional approach under pressure
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset
- Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related discipline are desirable.
