Civil Estimator & Client Relations Officer

We're looking for a proactive, personable and commercially minded Civil Estimator & Client Liaison Officer to join our growing team. You'll take ownership of the day-to-day estimating process, build genuine client relationships and play an important role in helping YTB Plumbing secure new work. You'll be responsible for managing day-to-day estimating enquiries, preparing accurate and competitive quotes, building relationships with clients and proactively following up opportunities. Our projects range from smaller residential water and sewer connections through to larger civil infrastructure works. Your primary focus will be smaller to medium-sized projects, with occasional involvement in larger infrastructure tenders as required. You'll work closely with our Managing Director, Works Coordinator, Operations Manager and site teams to ensure clients receive excellent service and projects transition smoothly from estimating into construction.

Key responsibilities

Preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates for civil plumbing, water, sewer and stormwater works

Managing estimating enquiries from initial client contact through to quote submission and follow-up

Quoting a variety of projects, from smaller 20mm water connections through to more involved civil plumbing works

Assist with the preparation and submission of larger civil infrastructure tenders when required.

Reviewing plans, specifications, scopes and project requirements

Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor pricing

Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders, developers, contractors and private clients

Proactively following up outstanding quotes and identifying opportunities to secure work

Communicating confidently with clients regarding pricing, scope, timeframes and project requirements

Attending site inspections and client meetings where required





Working closely with our operations team to ensure accurate project handovers

About you

Experience estimating within civil construction, civil plumbing or a related construction industry

A sound understanding of construction processes, materials, labour costs and project pricing

The ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A confident, approachable and professional manner when dealing with clients

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple quotes and enquiries

A proactive approach to following up opportunities and securing work

Good commercial judgement and an understanding of competitive pricing

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate estimates

The ability to work independently while remaining a genuine team player
