Run a crew. Own the day. Deliver the job.

Solana Energy is looking for a licensed electrician who can lead a small install team across Newcastle, the Hunter and the Central Coast.

You’ll be the person on the tools and the person organising the crew, planning the day, keeping the job moving, and making sensible calls on site without needing to be chased.

Solar and battery experience is a plus, not a must. If you’re a strong sparky who’s reliable and ready to step up as a team lead, we’ll train you and cover the tickets.

What the role actually is

Lead your install team day to day — who’s where, what’s next, what needs sorting

Install, test and commission residential solar PV, battery storage and EV chargers

Organise the job so it runs clean: materials, sequence, timing, paperwork

Site assessments and electrical requirements

Fault finding, maintenance and repairs when needed

Keep installs to Australian Standards and Solana’s workmanship bar

Complete testing, commissioning and documentation

Walk customers through their system

Work with apprentices, roofers and other electricians — and keep the standard high

Who we’re after

Current NSW Electrical Licence





Someone who can run their own team without constant supervision

Reliable — shows up on time, is where they said they’d be

Organised: plans the day and follows through

Common sense on site — does what makes sense to get the job done properly

Strong install and fault-finding skills

Transparent communicator; good with customers and the crew

Valid driver’s licence

Pride in clean, quality work

Nice to have

Battery accreditation

Solar and battery install experience

EV charging experience

Prior experience leading or mentoring a small crew

New to solar?

Fine. Right attitude + reliable electrician = we invest in you. We pay for SAA Solar Accreditation, battery accreditation and training, manufacturer certs, and ongoing mentoring.
