Venue Manager – The Moonah Hotel, Hobart

We’re after a Venue Manager to run The Moonah Hotel. This isn’t a “keep the lights on” job. It’s your venue, and we want someone who’ll treat it that way.

What it looks like

You’ll have real control of the venue. Day-to-day ops, the team, the numbers, the vibe: you call the shots. You’ll have backup from our group hospitality team whenever you need it, but nobody’s going to micromanage you.

What you’ll be doing
Running the venue like you own it, with full management control and accountability
Keeping a close eye on the numbers: P&L;, wages, COGS, the lot
Leading from the front. On the floor, behind the bar, setting the standard
Building and growing a team you’re proud of
Running the venue’s social media and telling the Moonah story
Coming up with ideas (events, promos, whatever brings people through the door)



and actually making them happen

What we’re looking for
Hands-on and engaged. You notice things and get stuck in
Solid craft beer and local wine knowledge (or a responsible love of it and a willingness to learn quick)
Solid financial skills, and comfortable owning a budget
A leader people want to work for
Someone who knows hospitality isn’t a 9–5 and is fine with that
