Kestrel Eight is an ICT systems integrator. We are building a delivery team for a global technology client's workplace security engineering function, and we are looking for hands-on security engineers, not generalist endpoint administrators.

The engagement is a 6 month contract starting as soon as possible. You will be Melbourne based, with some light travel to Singapore possible.

You will specialise in one of two tracks:
Secure operating setting: endpoint and server hardening baselines across Windows, macOS and Linux, device compliance, Defender endpoint controls and configuration drift reduction.
Cloud and endpoint security: Defender for Endpoint, Defender Vulnerability Management and Defender for Cloud Apps, secure virtual desktop controls, and telemetry integration into Sentinel and ServiceNow.

What you must have
7 or more years in cybersecurity or security engineering
Hands-on Microsoft Defender for Endpoint in an enterprise estate
Hardening work you have personally delivered, such as CIS Benchmarks, Microsoft security baselines or attack surface reduction
Intune experience, plus JAMF or Linux hardening for the secure operating setting track
Automation skills with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph or KQL




Australian work rights and the ability to travel to Singapore occasionally

Nice to have
Defender Vulnerability Management or Defender for Cloud Apps
Virtual desktop security
Sentinel integration
SC-200, CISSP or CCSP

This may not be the right role if your experience is endpoint administration, application packaging or device migrations without a security engineering focus.
