Position Overview

Elwood Bakery & Cafe is seeking a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Front of House All-Rounder with coffee-making experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy café setting.

Key Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Take customer orders, answer menu enquiries and make recommendations.
Prepare and serve quality coffee and other beverages.
Prepare sandwiches, wraps and other café food items to order.
Operate the cash register and process cash, EFTPOS and other payments accurately.
Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming front-of-house area.
Restock fridges, display cabinets, takeaway supplies and other items as required.
Ensure food is presented attractively and handled in accordance with food safety standards.
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and setting up the café.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Proactively identify tasks that need attention during quieter periods.

Skills and Experience




Previous café or hospitality experience preferred.
Experience making coffee using a commercial espresso machine.
Confident operating a cash register and EFTPOS terminal.
Experience preparing sandwiches and basic café food.
Robust communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
A positive attitude, reliability and a strong work ethic.
Good attention to detail and personal presentation.
Availability to work adaptable shifts, including weekends, as required.

Job Type: Casual / Part-time with a permanent contract (depending on availability)

Location: Elwood, VIC

Pay: Restaurant industry level 2 award wage
