About the Role

The Flying Horse Cafe is looking for a reliable, motivated and experienced Casual Cook to join our friendly and supportive kitchen team.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a team setting, takes pride in preparing fresh, quality food and can confidently assist with daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items to a high standard.
Assisting with daily food preparation and kitchen setup.
Maintaining consistency in food quality, presentation and portion sizes.
Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained.
Working efficiently during service while maintaining attention to detail.
Assisting with stock rotation, storage and general kitchen duties.
Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

About You





To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a commercial kitchen.
Previous experience in a cafe kitchen (preferred).
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time management and organisational skills.
A positive attitude, reliability and a robust work ethic.
A passion for preparing and presenting quality food.
Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week, including at least 1 weekend day.

Hours & Availability

This is a casual position offering a minimum of 3 days per week.

Shift times:
7:00am – 3:00pm
9:00am – 3:00pm

Applicants must be available to work at least one weekend day.

Pay: $28.00 – $40.00 per hour
