Job description:

Carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered machinery, plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
Diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment, testing procedures and technical manuals, and determine appropriate repair requirements.
Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace and reassemble engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, braking systems, cooling systems, fuel systems and other mechanical components.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, adjustments, component inspections and replacement of worn or defective parts.
Conduct mechanical testing and operational checks following repairs to ensure machinery is secure, reliable and operating to required specifications.
Carry out in-house service and repair work and machine fit-up/commissioning, including modifications and installation of mechanical components to meet customer requirements.
Use a range of hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, diagnostic equipment and workshop machinery safely and correctly.
Identify and rectify mechanical,



hydraulic and electrical-related faults associated with diesel-powered machinery, where within the mechanic's scope of work.
Read and interpret manufacturer service manuals, technical specifications, drawings and maintenance documentation when carrying out repairs and servicing.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete repair, maintenance and machine fit-up projects safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.
Maintain accurate service records, repair reports and parts information and report identified defects or additional repair requirements.
Comply with WHS requirements, secure work procedures and manufacturer specifications at all times.
